About Trudi

So a little bit about me. Caring for children has always been a part of my life. In total having over 30 years in various settings.

I initially trained and then worked in a nursery attached to the local college in Derby in the UK. My role was to be key worker to a group of children. Over the years this included babies from 6 weeks old through to when the children started school. Not only did I provide for their physical needs such as feeding, sleeping and toileting but also educating to help them be school ready. I gained promotion whilst there, becoming manager. This was all done with a happy sprinkling of fun along the way.

I then became a mum myself and so used my skills to childmind. Again caring for young babies through to 13 years old. Whilst doing this I had the opportunity to teach others how to join the profession I loved. As my boys grew up I starting teaching full time at a college to childcare students who wanted to be teaching assistants and nursery workers.

In 2019 I decided to move to France. Missing my work with children, I started to nanny for families at weddings and on holiday in the Dordogne. I have been privileged to get to know some wonderful families and share in their memories of this beautiful part of the world.
